The killing of a troop subordinated to the military council due to an attack of bombs and mines by the Military Council Army on Bago City’s bypass Road

It is reported that one soldier of the military council was killed when the local People’s Defense Force attacked the military council army on Bago City’s bypass Road with explosives and mines.

The spokesperson of the Bago People’s Defense Force, Wai Yan, said that Bago Township People’s Defense Force fired 40-mm grenades and mines at the main brigade support battalion of the Military Council Army in Bago City’s bypass road on October 3rd, at 8:00 p.m. causing one soldier of the military council was killed and two were injured.

“It’s called the military council’s main brigade support battalion. The People’s Defense Force in Bago Township attacked with 40-mm grenades as part of the “Nan Htike Aung operation”. The place where they attacked was their entrance gate, which then exploded with mines. On the side of the military council, one troop died and two troops were seriously injured. One troop that died was known by a tip-off. Two injured soldiers had to be taken to Yangon urgently,” he said.

After the main bridge support battalion of the Military Council Army was bombarded with bombs and mines by the local People’s Defense Forces, a resident of Bago said that on October 4, troops of the military council were looking around Bago city.

“If it happened on the outskirts of town, I don’t know for sure because I am downtown. The other night, I heard gunshots. The military troops are all over the city, and we have to look out,” she said.

In addition, although there are no regular checks at the entry gate of Bago City, the military council soldiers sometimes conduct National ID checks, and Bago residents said that there are frequent explosions in areas where the military council gates are stationed in Bago City.

In Bago Division, the military council army and the local People’s Defense Forces fight almost every day, and following these battles, air bombardment, attacks with heavy weapons at the nearby villages, and arson attacks on houses in the village as well, by the military junta regime, said the spokesperson of PDF of Bago Province.

After the coup by the military council, the military council camps, checkpoints, and columns in Bago province were frequently intercepted and exploded with mines. In addition to being attacked by landmines, employees and informants subordinated to the Military Council are also often wiped out, according to the statement of the local People’s Defense Forces.
