In the Karen State, the residents of Myawaddy said that the Military Council troops are firing and attacking the area around Lat Khat Taung near Myawaddy Town, with heavy weapons.
It has been more than 1 month since the KNLA joint forces attacked and seized the BGF camp under the Military Council on Lat Khat Taung, and the Military Council has raided at least 10 times reported by the Cabra Column.
The military council army and the BGF army subordinated to the military council suffered heavy casualties in the battle that took place near Lat Khat Taung, last August 15th, so there has been no battle for more than 2 weeks.
Although there have been no such clashes, the Infantry battalion (275) under the Military Council attacked Lat Khat Taung with heavy weapons on August 31 at around 9:00 p.m., said Myawati residents.
“Starting at around 9 o’clock, what about the heavy weapons and also small arms shot continuously? I heard a loud sound,” said a resident of Mayawaddy.
At the moment, the fighting around Lat Khat Taung is quiet, but the military council forces are firing heavy weapons and bombing with drones almost every night, said Captain Da Baw.
“It’s normal at night, sometimes they launch heavy weapons at night. Some bombardments with drones are not many, 10 to 15 times. That’s all,” he said.
The military council troops fired heavy weapons at the Lat Khat Taung camp. The Cobra Column reports that many pagodas and religious buildings on Lat Khat Taung have been damaged due to frequent aerial bombardments.
