Residents of 134 households fled owing to an airliner bombing at the Meik Thalin Taung village in Leiktho Town.

In Karen State, according to locals, residents of Leiktho were fleeing due to air raids by the military council in Meik Thalin Taung village, Thandaung Township.

Fighting broke out between the military council and the KNLA joint forces near Meikthalin Taung village on the last morning of September 25. Consequently, the military junta made an offensive operation of airstrike.

Due to this attack, more than 500 locals in 134 households in the upper and lower villages of Meik Thalin Taung have fled to safety, according to locals.

“There were shootings near the village yesterday morning. After that, the plane showed up but did not shoot immediately as it arrived and just still had a hangover for a while. After about 10 minutes, it was fired. That’s why about 134 households from the upper village and lower village of Meik Thalin village are fleeing, ”said a local.

In Thandaung Township, moreover, the military council frequently carried out airstrikes. They were attacked by an aircraft at the Yardo, Pare Saw village without fighting between the two sides, resulting in an 80-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman being injured.

“There was no fighting on that day. At around 11 a.m. on the 24th, a bomb was carried out in Yado Pare Saw village and a 30-year-old girl was hit but she was not worried. Additionally, an 80-year-old grandmother was hit in the neck as well and she was in serious condition, ”said a refugee.

In addition, from the beginning of September, it is said that four military vehicles from the Htone Bo Gyi military base have been carrying out a series of offensive operations continuously in the Leiktho area and north of Thandaung.

The military council marched through the villages, opened fire, operated an airstrike, and launched heavy weapons from the 7-mile gate, 4-mile gate, and Bayint Naung military camp toward the Thandaung area, causing at least five locals to be killed and more than 10 homes were destroyed, according to an announcement by the Thandaung Mupoe.
