Tanintharyi Region, Yebyu Township, the official of the Dawei Information Center said that the military council army is divided 170 forces into 3 groups and is advancing towards the villages in the Nabule region.
Last August 8, a local said that more than 50 military council soldiers who were at Dawei Deep Sea Port, a column of more than 70 forces from Hpa Chaung Inn village in the Kanbauk area and a 50-strong column from the Paya village, all together entered the Nabule area.
“There were about 50-force-column coming out from Nabulel Deep Sea Port. There were about 70-forces-column that coming from the Hpa Chaung Inn side. The 50-strong column that came down from Paya is missing,” he said.
Among the three columns, the column coming from the deep sea port abducted four Tongyi villagers and one Mu Du villager, a total of 5 villagers, as human shields at 7 o’clock, in the morning on August 8, according to a local from Nabule village.
Those arrested are U Kyaw Thein; Ko Lume, U Maw Tin Htwe, and U Su Nge. According to the locals, those who were arrested as human shields have not yet been released.
A resident of NaBuule said, “They arrested all the people along the route of the convoy. They also arrested a Mu Du villager who was working on the road,” he added.
The military council columns were from the battalion based in Yebyu Township and the battalion based in KaLein Aung Town. In addition, a local man said that they were wearing the uniforms of the People’s Defense Forces and also pretended to be civilians along the route of the column.
“Once before, the base battalions of Kalein Aung, Launglon, and Yebyu came with convoy. Now, they are wearing civilian clothes and PDF uniforms, and they are marching,” he said.
As of the night of August 9th, the column coming from the Deep Seaport has arrived at the monastery of Kha Maung Chaung village, and the column coming from the side of Hpa Chaung Inn village has arrived at the village entrance of Yange village, according to a person helping to avoid war in the region.
“They arrived at the monastery in Kha Maung Chaung village at night and had a meal with the captured villagers. The soldiers who came from the side of Hpa Chaung Inn are at the village entrance of the Yange village at night,” he said.
On the morning of August 9th, it is said that some villagers were also arrested from the village of Wat Chhung Village, but we as People’s Radio Myanmar have not been able to confirm anything independently.
Because the military council army entered the Nabule area in three columns and was attacking. And thousands of residents in 8 villages, such as the Htein Gyu Village Lae Shawng Village, Pradat, Bawa, Htwet Wa, Aye Ka Ni, and Wa Zute Taw, It is reported including Wa Zuntaw, have fled their homes.
Currently, there is a tense military situation between the local defense forces and the military council forces in the Nabulel area, and on July 27th, more than 70 local people in Yebyu Township were abducted by the military council forces as human shields, according to local news sources.
