Junta Drone Attack Hits DKBA Controlled Chinese Money Scam Farm in Phlu Village, Killing 3 Chinese Nationals and Injuring 13

In the Thai–Myanmar border area south of Myawaddy, junta forces fired from their camp on the hillside and launched a kamikaze type drone attack on 26 March 2026 at about 11:15 p.m. against a DKBA controlled Chinese scam farm on Kone Dote (Island Hill) in Phlu Village, according to local and PRM sources. The strike killed three Chinese nationals working at the tiger scam site and injured 13 others, they added.

The drone hit several buildings inside the compound, causing parts of the structure to collapse and burn, while the wounded were rushed to DKBA’s clinic in Kyauk Khet village for treatment. A DKBA linked source told PRM that the clinic has been hit repeatedly before, as ongoing clashes between the military and DKBA have turned the area into a frequent target zone.

“We keep seeing this clinic struck; it’s where the fighting and exchanges between the army and DKBA happen, and this time the kamikaze drone hit,” the source said. “We heard two loud explosions at around 11 p.m., and in the morning we learned that three Chinese men had died and around 13 were injured, with patients being sent to Kyauk Khet hospital.”

The military has carried out multiple artillery and drone strikes in March 2026 against DKBA linked scam farms and gambling compounds around Myawaddy, including Phlu Village, while also bombing displaced persons camps and shelters where civilians have fled to escape the fighting. Despite these attacks on DKBA owned economic sites, the DKBA side has not yet launched any major retaliatory military operations.

In the township and wards of Myawaddy, junta affiliated forces have continued to raid and shut down DKBA run businesses, including online gambling dens, casinos, tiger scam compounds, and underground betting rings, as part of a wider crackdown. So far, however, no public statements or official positions from DKBA leadership have been issued regarding the army’s ongoing attacks and seizures of their economic assets.

Residents and local border sources say that while the junta is targeting DKBA linked money scam and gambling operations, other armed groups and illegal gambling or tiger scam hubs in the countryside and surrounding villages have not been similarly raided or bombed, suggesting uneven enforcement across different factions and locations.

The military’s campaign against DKBA controlled economic sites appears aimed at both reducing the group’s funding and asserting greater control over the border trade corridor, but it has also exposed civilians and workers in these compounds to repeated attacks with little indication of coordinated protection measures.

At the same time, the lack of strong public reaction from DKBA leadership, and the absence of large scale counterattacks, suggests a calculated restraint on the group’s part, even as its businesses and infrastructure are systematically degraded around Myawaddy and the Thai–Myanmar border area.
