In Karen State, the Daw Na column reported that three soldierss were killed and many injured when KNLA joint forces attacked on a military council gate where money was collected near the 5-ton bridge on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Road.

The Dawna column and KNLA joint forces together attacked on the military council checkpoint that was collecting money by the regiment of 201 under the No. 22 division on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Road last October 11 at around 3:30 p.m.

Comrade Kyaw Zaw, deputy commander of the Daw Na Column, said that 3 soldiers of the Military Council’s army were killed and 4 others were injured due to the attack on the military council gate where money was being collected.

“We are still investigating the causality situation. We can say for sure that 3 troops died, and at least 4 people were injured. Guerrilla attacks are always done depending on the circumstances,” he said.

After the joint KNLA column went on the attack, the military council troops returned fire with 80 mm grenades, but there were no injuries to the side of the KNLA forces.

An attack on that military council gate was about 20 forces strong, and they used to collect money from passers-by and conduct random checks, and the rest of the time, they did not go outside the gate reported by the Kawkareik residents.

“There are some rough tests, usually they don’t go out much and then they don’t even dare to go out, they stay inside the gate usually.” said a resident of Kawkareik.

According to KNLA news sources, the military situation between the Military Council Army and KNLA joint forces in Kawkareik town is tense, and the Military Council Regime is positioned along the Asia Road.

Moreover, almost 20 soldiers of the Military Council were killed in September, due to frequent drone bombings and guerrilla attacks on the military council army gate, some department offices, and military council columns in the towns of Myawaddy, Kawkareik, Kyondoe, Hpapun, PayaThonzu and ThanDaung in Karen State according to local news sources,
