Somewhere along the road of Myawaddy-Kawkareik in Karen State, the local People’s Defense Forces are conducting security checks on the road.
A comrade AKM, combat and information officer, from Albino Tiger Division (4), said that security checks were being conducted somewhere in the Myawaddy – Kawkareik road between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m and then the more territorial control, the more seeking and investigating by the areas and they seized the kinds of stuff of the military council along some of the inspection areas.
“The inspections were done so long. The soldiers of Albino Tiger Company- 4 participated according to the area. Currently, they are also working in other parts of the road. We have been checking the old road for a long time. It is just that we have not posted it. Our comrades from Albino Tiger Company (4) are participating in the gates of the road. We are re-inspecting the area now for security reasons. There are sometime like informers and spies, and sometimes the stuff of the military council related to the road have been confiscated,” he said.
As tourists and drivers do not take the stuff and people related to the Military Council. AKM, a comrade of combat and information of Albino Tiger Company 4, told them not to carry any items and to be honest when inspected by the People’s Defense Forces.
A tourist said, “I saw those Forces, they didn’t check anything, they checked the national ID card even if there were lots of passengers, they didn’t check when alone. They asked where they came from, and they didn’t check as much as the military army.”
“I think the military junta inspected the passengers strictly because the vehicles passed through the PDF gate, and the PDF perhaps disguised themselves as passengers,” he said.
Locals said that there were frequent clashes between the military council army and the KNLA joint forces on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik road, and they are firing heavy weapons almost every day.
According to AKM, the combat and information officer of Albino Tiger Company 4 until yesterday August 20th, the joint column with the comrades of Albino Tiger Company 4 will continue to inspect the Myawaddy-Kawkareik road.
In addition, a news source from KNLA said that at around 10:00 a.m. yesterday August 20, the local PDF conducted a drone mission on Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Highway.
According to KNLA news sources, the inspection of the road is not limited and continues not only in the Myawaddy-Kawkareik road in Karen State but also in the Mawlamyaing – Ye -Dawei No. 8 road and some roads in Nyaunglebin Township of Bago Province and Kyaikto Township due to the territorial control and mission. Last June and July, there was a skirmish between the two sides when inspecting somewhere on the road.
