In Karen State, Myawaddy police station was bombed by a drone, killing 5 people, including Lieutenant Colonel
Aung Kyaw Min, who is the frontline commander of the Myawaddy forward operation base office , and 13 others were injured, according to Myawaddy residents.
An explosion occurred in front of the Myawaddy Myoma police station on September 3 at around 6:40 p.m., and while the officials went to investigate, the attack by a drone happened.
Locals of Myawaddy town said that 5 people, including Lt. Col. U Aung Kyaw Min, were killed and 13 others were injured as a result of the drone bombing.
“Sowing into the police station, 2 bombs fell into the police station and another 2 fell into the District Administrative Department in Myawaddy. The district administrator and 2 of his followers were killed and a total of 5 people died. 13 people were injured,” said a resident of Myawaddy.
As a result of this target attack, Myawaddy frontline commander, Lt. Col. Aung Kyaw Min, Myawaddy District Administrator U Soe Tint, District General Officer U Tun Tun Lin, and District General Clerk U Peo Phyo Aung, and Chief of Traffic Police, Ne Lin Soe were killed.
A Cobra Column official said that the drone bombing attack was carried out by Cobra Column and Federal Wings drone forces, and there were no casualties on the part of the revolutionary forces.
“The first two bombs were by the federal wings of the Cobra and the second was at the police station and the defense forces were not injured,” he said.
Also, a person close to the police station said that although the people living in the police station compound have not moved, security has been increased.
“They are living in the police station like normal. The security is a bit tighter. The soldiers are not guarding but the police are. They didn’t allow us to see the damaged area. Only high-ranking officers can go,” he said.
Myawaddy Kawkareik, Kyondoe, Kyar Inn Seik Gyi, Hpapun, and Than Daung Gyi Town in Karen State, there were clashes between the military council army and the KNLA joint forces, and the offices of the military council army were often bombarded by drones.
Last night of August 22, the public hospital in Myawaddy district was bombed by a drone, and some of the hospital’s buildings were damaged, according to local news sources.
